Phuket is a large island (about 50km by 20km) situated in the Andaman Sea of the South West coast of Thailand.

The island has an international airport, in the North of the island, capable of handling large aircraft such as A340, B747 and B777.

There are direct tourist flights from/to many destinations worldwide.

However, it is usually reached by flying into the Suvarnabhumi Airport (new Bangkok International Airport), and taking an internal flight directly to Phuket (about 1 hour and 15 minutes flight).

Phuket can also be reached by local international flights from Singapore, Kuala Lumpur or Jakarta.

Take a taxi (about 600 Baht) from the airport to Prince of Songkla University, Kathu District; or to Beach Hotels; or to Hotels in Phuket town. Journey time is about 45 minutes.
