It is very much cheaper to use a Thai SIM card for your mobile phone for BOTH local and international calls.

For example phoning to England from Thailand with a UK SIM card cost about 1.4 Euros/minute

With a Thai SIM card it is about 0.14 Euro/minute, i.e. one tenth the cost!!!

You can buy a Thai SIM card for about 200 Baht, which includes 50 Baht prepaid.

You make a profit, the first time you use it to phone Europe.

DTAC card is the most popular, but there are others too.

Visit a mobile phone shop or a concession in a supermarket.

You can re-use it if you come back to Thailand in the future.

Cards for 50/100/200/300 baht are available in 7/11 shops and other.

Top-up is easy in English and Thai.
