island (about 50km by 20km) situated in the Andaman Sea of the South West
coast of Thailand. The island has an international airport, in the North of the
island, capable of handling large aircraft such as A340, B747 and B777. There are direct tourist flights from/to many destinations
worldwide. However, it is usually reached by flying into the Phuket can also be reached by local international flights from Take a taxi (about 600 Baht) from the airport to Prince of Songkla University, Kathu
District; or to Beach Hotels; or to Hotels in Phuket town. Journey time is
about 45 minutes.
